In 2016 I co-founded annual retreat for seasoned family photographers with the two boss ladies pictured left. The Family Narrative was an idea born out of wanting to inspire and create community with other family photographers. Our goal is to offer established photographers a place to commune with their peers, push through burnout, learn from each other and leave feeling inspired and invigorated. The 3-day retreat is filled with curated presentations, panel discussions, small-group conversations, portfolio reviews, and live shoots that script an entirely new narrative on what it means to be a family photographer in the modern era.
Private mentoring is a personalized, flexible workshop experience customized to help you get to your next level. Whether you have just purchased a camera and are learning how to use it or whether you’re a seasoned photographer looking to scale your business, we work together ahead of our meetings to create an agenda, and plan our time together to give you the maximum benefit. During our session I instruct, demonstrate, or answer questions, and will be an open book about my successes, mistakes, and shortcuts. Previous mentor session topics include workflow management, pricing, website reviews, starting your business, building a commercial/editorial portfolio, and branding/design consultation (to name a few!). Sessions are available in person in Virginia/DC or virtually.
